Cykrion - Ban Notification

It is with great regret that I must announce that Cykrion has been banned for perpetrating the crime described in this thread:

Just to recap, the list of misdemeanors is extensive, including but not limited to:

• Griefing
  
• Theft
  
• Vandalism
  
• Murder of custom pets
  
• Public Indecency
  
• Obscenities
  
• Attempts to Frame other players
  
• Low Degree obstruction of justice (insofar as taking so long to reply to my inquiries)
  

Cykrion did eventually admit to and apologize for the crime, plus he has never been known to have been responsible for other felonies as far as we know, so this will help reduce the severity of the punihsment.  Even so, he did not willingly confess, he did not provide a valid reason for committing these crimes, and the list of wrongdoings is too extensive to be able to offer a full pardon.

Therefore, Cykrion is hereby perma-banned for a period of no less than 45 days, after which he will be eligible for parole and can only return to the server after going through the unbanning process if he so chooses. 

That is all.

I'm sorry, he was one of my favorite players too.  

But a crime is a crime, and worse yet that he was so callous about it.  As his friend, you should have urged him to not do something that stupid, or at least come clean from the very beginning.  He had half a day to apologize to Miisaka and clean up the mess (which if i recall from the sign, YOU ended up having to clean up anyway).  If he knew what was actually going on, he could have explained it to me rather than have me waste all that time and deny me a chance to play during the whole day, even while he horsed around carefree on the forum and Dynmap.

The way I see it, he threw away our good will and abused our kindness for nothing, so I have my doubts whether 45 days is long enough.

Cykrion's alias account has been banned, and his in-game ban will be extended to 60 days in lieu of the original 45 for willfully-attempting to circumvent the ban.  

If he continues to flaunt the rules, a harsher ban will be imposed and we will begin blocking IP addresses as well, regardless of who else related to him may be affected by this action.

Consider this your second and final warning.

Unfortunately Cykrion is now permanently banned and all accounts relating to him, including those of his brother who ever-stayed his welcome, are now suspended.  

It is regrettable that an incident that, by their own belief (which ignored the framing aspect and the trust-breaking) was a "minor grief" would escalate to such a severe punishment due to a complete lack of regret for their actions and a complete abundance of immaturity.

As for the issue of jealousy, which has been brought up by them and their friend on the server, I will say these general words...

You cannot be here solely to try to court favors from me.  You cannot be here solely to one day expect to become Moderator.  And you most certainly cannot be here expecting to become the center of attention.   

If you want the privilege of being respected, you have to earn that privilege as it will not be handed to you.  And that privilege isn't just granted by how many favors you do or buildings you create.  All the buildings in the world won't grant you any friendship or respect if you will destroy all that in a heartbeat the moment you don't get what you want.  

People who even now lament not being part of the staff (or getting any kind of special favor) should ask themselves what they would do to us -- what harm would they love to impart on us -- if they don't get what they want.  If the answer is something self-serving and cruel, then they have their answer.  They should ask themselves how much work they're willing to do to help review whitelists properly, help coordinate events and building projects singlehandedly, supervise over 90 kids and young adults, track down criminal activity, deal with indecent activity, and generally lift heaven and earth so I don't get stuck doing all that myself.  If their answer is "not a whole lot", then they have their answer.
