Question about houses

Just want to ask, if i don't have the cheese for one of the big houses (for 8x players) would i be allowed to just pay a player that has one a little bit of cheese every now and then to live in a small part of their house, (store items in chests etc), I play as a 0.8x normally, so I could just use one of the pre built houses or models in the house, just wanna know if this is allowed on the server, thanks for reading.

Mmm, living in an 8x house is a bit of a contentious issue given the problems with "Swarming" that we've had in the past. Even if its by consent, the 8x player may be forced to change his/her mind later, and is in his/her righr to ask you to leave.

My advice is to spend some time getting to know the people on the server first, and if any (who are 8x players) agree to let you be a micro-tenant in their house, it will be with all the trust in the world.

On the other hand, you CAN make a house on public lands... the Cheese Quest House, for instance.
