MechWarriors - Sign-Ups! =D

Centuries have passed since humanity invented the Faster Than Light (FTL)/Hyperdrive, and rapidly began to colonize the stars, all but abandoning Earth. Since then they have met hundreds of different races, each with varying levels of technology and territory: from solar system empires to nomadic tribals. Roughly a hundred years ago, roughly half of mankind banded up with many different races to form the Republic of United Systems (RUS for short). This Republic quickly grew, but was stopped as the rest of humanity and many other races formed the POE; the Pan-Galactic Empire. Tensions rose as both factions grew to almost incomprehensible levels of power, and finally all-out war began.

In between these two superpowers, each controlling several galaxies, was ‘No Man’s Land’ - an entire galaxy that had suffered the worst of this hundred-year long war. Billions have been killed, hundreds of planets obliterated, and still the war rages as if it had only started yesterday. In light of this, No Man’s Land is crawling with bandits, slavers, and mercenaries - you being some of the latter.

Fairly recently, a small, neutral faction began to rise in No Man’s Land, calling for peace… and was completely destroyed by the POE. The RUS’s media has capitalized on this, and has decided to take advantage of the huge numbers of guns-for-hire in No Man’s Land. Very quickly, posters on every planet, in every seedy bar begin to advertise jobs for mercs in the RUS millitary.

For whatever reason, be it for the money, your own moral qualms with the POE, personal vengeance, or maybe you’re just psychotic, you’ve joined up with the Republic of United Systems.

Of course, before you can join, you’re handed a sheet by the recruiting sergeant (of varying size and race, depending on where you’re signing up, and who you are). “Fill this out, first. You do have your own equipment, right?”

Race: Make whatever the heck you want. Describe the abilities of your custom race if you make one, and give a general Gulliver scale for the size (i.e., 1x, 8x, or 0.125x).
Appearance: While I prefer pictures, you can describe your character with words.
Weapons: What you use outside of your mech for protection. Larger races (6x and up) just wear armor rather than ride in a mech, so unless their weapons are built into their armor, they can stick them in this section and use them outside their armor.
Skills: What makes you special when you’re outside your mech/armor.
Personality: Shoot for a paragraph here describing your character’s… er, character. Shorter is okay, but longer is (almost) always good .u.
Bio: A paragraph here, minimum. This is your character’s background - where they come from, what they’ve done before the start of this RP, etc. etc.
Misc: Anything not covered above.

Mecha suit/Exo-suit
Name: This can be whatever you want. Go crazy.
Pilot Speciality: What makes you special when you’re inside your mech/armor.
Mech Appearance: Same as your character’s appearance - pictures or words. However, I strongly recommend pictures, since the internet is full of them.
Weapons: Weapons usable only when in your mech/armor.
Special Attributes: Special gear, like stealth field generators, advanced super-shields, teleporters, etc. Don’t go too over the top, here.
Mecha Origins: How did your character acquire their mech? (It can be boring, like 'oh I just bought it at the store')

Name: Xavier Radarius
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Human; x1
Appearance: Short brown hair, green eyes, with a scar on his right ear.  He also has a tattoo of a nuclear explosion on his back, although it's usually covered by a jacket.
Weapons: A small solar powered laser pistol, and multiple grenades of varying types, from sticky to flashbangs.  Also carries a small dagger-like blade for melee combat.
Skills: Has a fairly good throw distance, and is adequate with aiming.  Knows limited martial arts, but occasionally trips up.
Personality: Xaiver is brash, often charging right into battle.  However, he will listen to orders from superiors, even though he tends to do things his own way.  Socially, he is actually a quiet person, and usually hangs around people he knows very well.  He is quick to anger, and might throw harmless smoke grenades to calm down.
Bio: Xavier was only 15 when he heard about the war.  He wanted to do his best to stay out of it, until he accidentially got caught in the middle of a skirmish between the RUS and the POE.  He only barely managed to escape, but a stray bullet shot him in the ear.  After seeing the violence, he felt different.  He got excited when people mentioned the war, and he decided to become a mercenary.  He had good throwing skills from playing sBaseball as a child, so he chose grenades as his main weapon. When the RUS said that they would pay him to fight for them, he eagerly joined for both the cash and the fighting.
Misc: Really likes citrusy foods like limes, and has a bit of a hearing problem in his right ear for obvious reasons.

Mecha suit/Exo-suit
Name: BombLobber7500
Pilot Speciality: The mech is completely controlled by personal movement, so if he moves in a certain direction, the mech will mirror him.  He has fake grenades on his shoulders so that when he throws these, the mech can throw bombs.
Mech Appearance:

Weapons: A very large stockpile of bombs located above the shoulders.
Special Attributes: The armor is made of pure Neodymidium-89, which can resist explosions extremely well.  However, melee attacks will cause large damage, and bullets are not affected.  It also has multiple joints, so that if it does run out of bombs, it can utilize Xavier's martial arts skills to hold out while waiting for reinforcements.
Mecha Origins: Xavier had just been accepted as part of the army when he was told that he needed a mech.  He decided to look at what the army already had, and found a robot with large containers on it.  He was told it was just a storage mech, sort of like a pack mule.  But Xavier decided to modify it and loaded the compartments with bombs.  He also installed the precise motion tracking software so that he could throw said bombs with ease.

Name: Drak Moltest
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Race: Repki - A reptilian race that are about 0.4 on the gulliver scale. This race is renowned for being mostly bandits, outlaws stealing or murdering in the lowlife areas in towns or on the outskirts. Although, they are valued for their mechanical abilities, which they learn early by constantly fixing and piecing together mechs from salvage and wreckage found lying around.
Appearance:
Weapons: Wields only a relatively large wrench which can be used for smacking people in the face. But mostly uses his mechs weapons whenver possible. If need be, he can scavange scrap and assemble makeshift weapons on the battlefeild to use, repairing and reconfigoring guns and artillerly so he can use it on the ground.
Skills: An exceptional mechanic that can fix and repair almost anything. Constantly trying to tweak and refine sections of mechs and other mechanical devices, he can use salvage and other thigns hes picked up to try and upgrade already powerful guns or repair seemingly unfixable damage. It may not be pretty when its done, but it gets the job done. He also has inherient, extensive knowledge of the weaponry and machinery that mechs have, and can point out weaknesses to other crew members.
Personality: Grumpy, Obnoxious and impolite, he can be hard to endure when around him, but he is respect for his skills and frankly, he knows that they cant get better mechanics anywere else all too well. He often is very laid back at even the most serious of situations, discussing tactics bores him immensely, and finds it a waste of his time when he could be upgrading the guns instead. During these dicussions, your likely to find him with feet on the table, relaxed and swigging a bottle of booze. A horrible alcoholic, he refuses to work or even go anwhere without a bottle in hand, which may explain his obnoxious behaviour, as he often says things that are increadibly rude and inconsiderate. However, he is loyal and fearless, being a former bandit and LOVES a good fight.... maybe a little too much, as he tends to go into a bloodthritsy rage during fights, cackling loudly at explosions and debris.
Bio: Like many of his kind, he was brought up in the gands, running with bandits, stealing, pillaging and generally causing problems for the cities in the area. Eventually, their luck had run out and a task force of elite mechs had struck his group, unawares, and taken them all back to the city for sentencing. Recognising that Drak's mechanic abilities stood out from the rest, he was offered a compulsary place in the military, rather than face punishment, a sort of community service for his crimes. He accepted instantly, relishing the thought of more combat and explosions, as long as he had a supply of booze of course. They reluctantly agreed after some persuading, and hes been fighting with the military ever since. His community service time has already been served, but he has stayed for the booze and guns, building a mech from scratch himself with the wreckage and debris hes managed to collect over 6 years.
Misc: He also smokes, -constantly- causing him to cough and splutter. Along with his booze, this can make him difficult to understand at times.



Mecha suit/Exo-Suit
Name:Brimstone
Pilot Speciality: Can repair broken equipment on the fly inside cockpit, but has to exit mech to fix anything else. Also can fix allies mechs too.
Mech Appearance:
Weapons: Razor sharp claws that can rip through armour. Also houses a heat (lazer, think godzilla style) beam in the mouth, for medium or close range attacks. The tail can be used as a mace in addition to this.
Special Attributes: Very fast when sprinting as it needs to get close to its target. Its armour is very thick, so can also take a lot of hits. However, it can be known to overheat quickly.
Mecha Origins: Was build by hand by Drak while working with the military by collecting scrap and debris from mechs on the battlefield.

I made a few things bold in my post, to clarify something: you guys are mercenaries, an you're being hired for the time being by the RUS for a pretty good price - you don't necessarily believe in their cause, nor are you forced to fight for them. Sorry that wasn't very clear ^^;

Name: "Simon"

Age: Probably 30 something human years

Gender: Male

Race: Lau (pronounced like "cow", with an L). About 7' 4" (2.22m, 1.25x-ish).

Appearance:

His left leg is replaced by a robotic one.

Weapons: Long pulse-rifle, nothing too fancy. Also carries a large hunting knife for when his long claws simply don't cut it.

Skills: Swift and silent, save for his clunky foot. Always on guard, ready to retaliate. Runs on all fours when speed is required.

Personality: Serious, with little humor expressed save for the sarcastic comments he gives. Brilliant. Gets annoyed when talking to those who are "incapable of thoughts that require a minimum intelligence level". Honor-bound, with a strong sense of dignity; he considers it an unforgivable crime for one to lose it willingly. Breaking vows, lying, all of these are against his instinctive code.

Bio: The Lau, as a race, are very self-reliant. Rarely will they accept help from others unless they are in great need of it. Their honor system is the cause of this, with high "ranks" bestowed on the most honorable. They are proficient both in war and in science: dangerous when mixed together. Their military is a force to be reckoned with, as they show little mercy when in combat. Their honor forces them to obey their higher-up without question, and any disobedience results in punishment.

Being nicknamed after his notorious habit of barking orders (i.e. Simon Says), "Simon" was a medium-ranked commander for the Lau. He was exiled from his regiment due to reasons he'd rather keep a secret. Still true to his race, he is bound by his honor to follow the "laws of the land", no matter where he may be. This leads to some interesting confrontations, as he'll attempt to put any criminal to justice; even if the one in question is an ally, he'll try to take care of them. He says he's being hired by the RUS because he "needs something to do", but in reality it's his attempt at restoring his honor to its original glory.

Misc: Subconsciously pushes up his glasses when talking about strategies/tactics, or when annoyed by unintelligent thoughts and actions.


Mecha suit/Exo-suit

Name: NK-0, aka Niko

Pilot Specialty
: Simon and the AI in his ship work in-sync, coming up with strategies and deciding what actions to take. He also enters a sort of "focus mode" when in battle, not paying attention to anything but who to kill and who to not.

Mech Appearance:


Weapons
: 6-round Tungsten-Railgun, modified to enable one-handed wielding. Shock-laced bayonet equipped on the barrel: not as effective on armor, but can fry circuits and take down energy shields with ease. Simon sacrifices slug accuracy and velocity in order to half the charge-up speed.
Also carries a reactive shield in his other hand to reduce damage from projectiles such as bullets and rockets.

Special Attributes: Onboard human AI, "Niko". Niko can receive and act on basic and advanced orders without a pilot and is capable of analyzing data in the field to calculate percentages. Niko is able to understand and translate many languages, including but not limited to English and Lau. Niko is typically called a "she" due to her contralto female voice synthesizer. Her synthetic voice makes it tough to produce humor, but she is capable of it.

Niko is equipped with a Lau Dash-Core, a machine that allows the pilot to dash using jets equipped on the back of its main body. Niko's feet are covered in retractable spikes that allow switching between maximum and minimum ground-traction in an instant. This comes in handy to allow the Dash-Core to not lose speed due to friction as Simon/Niko dash around. She also has a gyroscope to prevent falling down during these high-speed maneuvers. (Need a video to explain? Look at how this guy moves, specifically around 2:15.)

Mecha Origins: Niko's frame was purchased by Simon during his days as a soldier, so he was allowed to keep it when he was exiled. Lacking previous experience with humans, however, he purchased Niko's AI core to be his guide. Now, they function as a perfect pair, with Simon even smiling at her sayings and actions occasionally.

...Well, to make up for my slowness, I have made two characters. From opposite ends of the size-spectrum.

And one of them is a girl :V

Name: Caith ‘Blazing Phoenix’ Ollmhor
Age: Roughly 20 in human years
Gender: Female
Race: Tanmawr, 8x
Tanmawr, or fire giants, are… well, giants that are on fire. When they are born, they are literally just balls of white flame, and they slowly age until they are little more than molten rock held together by dying red embers, like stars. On the note of aging, they judge it by their body’s temperature, which is slightly affect by room temperature - so a Tanmawr that decides to live in an oven will live several years longer than one that made it’s home in the arctic. Also, until they reach an old age, fire giants are capable of creating and breathing fire, due to a surprising amount of control over their body heat. It is rumored that some can even make objects combust without even touching them - just by using pure force of will. Also, Tanmawr blood looks very much like molten metal, and is as hot, if even hotter.
At any rate, the most important thing to remember about Tanmawr is that most races will combust upon being touched by them, which is why most that go out and mingle with other races tend to wear specialized suits, that both keep their body at a high temperature, but insulate that heat from the outside world, and vice-versa.
Appearance:
Well, this is what she looks like outside her pilot’s suit and exo-suit..

Though she wears the suit below (the middle one, that is. Also minus the helmet and the light armor plating) to avoid setting everything on fire, much as she wishes she was allowed to do so...

Weapons: She is literally made out of fire - she can breath it like a dragon and simply make things combust if she touches them without her specialized cooling suit. While her flamethrower is attached to her suit, she carries a backup hand cannon, and she always has a fire extinguisher slung across her back, because she isn’t a total jerk.
Skills: Setting things on fire. Setting everything on fire.
Personality: Some people just want to watch the galaxy burn. Caith Ollmhor is one of those people, though she has enough sense to haul fire extinguishers around in case other people don’t want to watch the galaxy burn. Naturally, she has a fiery temper, which literally causes her to flare even more than usual when she gets mad, and she does not appreciate getting flirted with in any way, shape, or form. Unless it’s by someone that’s completely fireproof.
Bio:
Born on Ignis Prime, a planet that is extremely close to it’s sun, and is the homeworld of the Tanmawr, Caith Ollmhor grew up like most of her kind on that world - in an industrious and rather militaristic environment. Trained at a rather young age to use her abilities to fight, Caith very quickly gained the stereotypical Tanmawr lust for battle. Once she ‘came of age’, the young fire giant managed to get herself an armored suit, a small ship, and took off into No Man’s Land.

Caith very quickly gained a reputation for being a very hard-to-kill, short-tempered menace. Titled the ‘Blazing Phoenix’ for surviving more than one crash behind enemy lines, only to carve her way back to friendly territory. As the RUS and POE continued to fight their lofty war, Ollmhor was busy becoming a veteran of hundreds of smaller disputes, until finally the RUS began mass-hiring mercenaries. Deciding the price was worth the additional regulations, Caith Ollmhor signed up.
Misc:

Mecha suit/Exo-suit
Name: Infernum
Pilot Speciality: Burning everything, at longer ranges than outside of her suit, though. Also taking lot’s of punishment, considering the heavy armor plating.
Mech Appearance:

Weapons: A huge flamethrower, which can shoot a stream of flame over dozens of yards, or launch balls of flame like cannon rounds. Caith also keeps her hand cannon holstered on her suit in case she needs greater range, or has to deal with anything fireproof. Also, in case enemies get too close for her flamethrower, Ollmhor can open vents in her helmet covering her mouth, and her palms, so she can still use her body heat as a weapon.
Special Attributes: The Infernum is completely fireproof and heavily armored, but also has short-range, high-powered jets in the boots. These allow Caith to jump fairly high, allowing her to cross moderate distances very fast, or leap up onto a high, and very strong, ledge.
Mecha Origins: The Infernum was forged by Tanmawr on Ignis Prime, and designed to be as comfortable as possible for a fire giant to use. Caith purchased it legally, or so she says.

Name: Pinco
Age: Somewhere in his 40s in human years
Gender: Male
Race: ‘Scrapper’, 0.0625x
‘Scrappers’ are a little-known race of tiny scavengers, though unlike Repki they are hardly ever noticed, and lack any kind of reputation. In fact, often they’re considered little more than bugs and minor pests. However, Scrappers are surprisingly intelligent, and harmonious beings, living in large clans and roving through cities and battlefields alike, unseen by most. They are very resourceful, though they don’t do very well alone, and require teams of dozens of their kind to do anything noticeable. Usually.
At any rate, Scrappers have a very tough metabolism, making them immune to most toxins and diseases, and they are very enduring, and strong for their size. A single one can lift up most 0.125x scaled races with only a little trouble, despite being half their size. Of course, their biggest downside is that they’re tinier than tiny, technically speaking, and lifting large-but-light loads is very difficult for them. They’re also not good fighters, at all, being very squishy; though they make up for that in running speed.
Appearance:
Pinco, as himself.

Pinco’s utility mech-suit, used for interacting with big folk. It’s surprisingly graceful for something that looks so clunky.

Weapons: The utility mech-suit has a medium-caliber machine gun built into the arm, for self-defense. Outside of his suit, though, for if he runs into common house pests (which, more often than not, are extremely dangerous to him), Pinco carries a small variety of primitive blades and projectile weapons, which couldn’t even hope to seriously harm anyone human-sized.
Skills: Scavenger, Leader
Personality: Pinco is a born leader, and both mentally and physically fit. However, considering his size, he isn’t usually listened to - much less heard by larger races, without technological help. He finds his special needs frustrating to no end, though, leading to him getting frustrated easily with giants, or particularly stubborn human-sized races.
Bio:
Born in a large clan of Scrappers living on a backwater world in No Man’s Land, Pinco started life as a lowly member of their society. However, when the clan was caught in the middle of a massive battle, most of the clan was killed, unseen by the huge mechs towering over them. By the time the dust settled, Pinco and only a few dozen other Scrappers had survived, hiding in the gutted corpse of a still-warm Tanmawr.

For days they hid there, fearing that they would be found and destroyed like the rest of the clan, but eventually Pinco stood up. He stepped out into the misty battlefield-turned-graveyard, and led his band of survivors out into the unknown. For some time they scavenged the battlefield, until finally they saw larger scavengers reconstructing one of the less-damaged mechs. Seeing this massive weapon of war, towering far above their tiny heads, the Scrappers were first afraid.

However, again Pinco showed his unusual courage, coming up with a brilliant plan of using the huge war machine, the Rogue Cannon, to move on to greener pastures. In the dead of night, the larger scavengers were rudely awakened as their newly-repaired mech came to life, on it’s own it seemed. Fleeing after Pinco accidentally fired a test round over their heads, the Scrappers found themselves in total control of the mecha, and eventually figured out how to pilot it.

Unfortunately, Pinco quickly realized requiring an entire clan of Scrappers to run the machine like this was not only inefficient, but it almost ended fatally for several of them. So, figuring out the inner workings of the mech, and soon he began work on a much smaller version, standing at roughly human height, which could be piloted by a single member of his species. Upon it’s completion, Pinco led his people out of the graveyard, after roughly a year of struggling for survival and - both literally and metaphorically - living off the corpses there.

Since then, he found a safe place for his clan to stay, and decided to try exploring the rest of the planet, alone. He eventually wound up finding that there was a much larger galaxy out there, filled with hundreds of species, and decided to go out in search of other Scrappers, or similar races. In the meantime, he found that mercenary work was a profitable - if dangerous - line of work, and has tried using that to both fund his search for more Scrappers and other needy, smaller races, as well as return to his old clan every now and then to guide them, and train new leaders.

Thus, eventually the RUS picked him up.
Misc: He is literally the smallest thing in the universe. And he’s adorable.

Mecha suit/Exo-suit
Name: Rogue Cannon
Pilot Speciality: Heavy Artillery Support
Mech Appearance:

Weapons:
Two arm cannons: plasma-based, moderate rate of fire, accuracy, and damage
Three shoulder/back cannons: shell-based, low rate of fire, moderate accuracy. Can fire high-explosive, armor-piercing, or smoke rounds
Special Attributes: Can ‘stabilize’ by digging into the ground, becoming immobile but being able to fire much faster and more accurately. However, the Rogue Cannon has a slowed reaction time, since Pinco is piloting a mecha suit inside a mecha suit - though his personal enhanced reflexes, and his constant maintenance work on both suits negates this somewhat.
Mecha Origins: Scavenged and repaired by a band of low-lives, Pinco and his clan accidentally chased them off, and then claimed the machine. Since then it has received many upgrades, and Pinco has been working on making it pilot-able for someone his size without a ‘middle-man’ suit.

Race: Human, x1

Appearance: Longish black hair, and normally just wears a brown leather jacket and baggy black pants. His right arm is replaced by a mechanical arm.

Weapons: Just a laser pistol and a short dagger.

Skills: James excels in hand-to-hand combat, and can easily take out an enemy at close range. He's also learned to use his mechanical arm to better himself, which has significantly increased his power in his right arm. He's a decent shot when using guns, and has has some experience with machines.

Personality: James is a mildly talkative person with strangers and others he doesn't really know, but still likes to talk to and be with his friends, and is pretty easy to get along with. He is very obedient with his superiors and (almost) always follows orders. He's actually even-tempered and always tries to stay calm during bad situations.

Bio: James lived a relatively normal life away from the blazing war. James' father had been an expert engineer for RUS, though it didn't have much of a negative impact on the family as far as getting them caught up in the war. James liked to watch his father tinker around with machines in their garage. He picked up on some things, and his father had taught him a few things about mechanics, though James didn't become too tech savvy.

Though, his father had died in an accident at the base he worked at. James had went with him one day when he was older, eager to get acquainted with all the gadgetry and machines his father had worked with, when there was a misfire with some weapons they were working on, which caused an explosion. James' father had been caught in the center of it, while James himself had managed to survive it, but with a very badly injured arm, which had to be replaced with a mechanical one. Though he recovered, both physically and mentally, he had always tried to be updated on the happenings of the war. When he saw that he could join RUS in the fight, he knew he had to, and began to train himself so he could fight in the war. (Though, he still still in it largely for the money, since he isn't exactly that rich.)

Misc: He enjoys a good book in his free time, and loves music.


Mech Suit/Exo Suit


Name: Iron Fist

Pilot Specialty: Though, being a basic mech, James is able to push it to it's limits with it's very accurate movement and speed.

Mech Appearance:




Weapons: With bulky parts and a lot of strength, it's very powerful in close combat and is best for melee attacks in battle. For more more ranged combat, it's equipped with dual medium range plasma guns on the forearms and two rapid-fire plasma guns in the chest that can both do a fair amount of damage in longer range combat.

Special Attributes: The Iron Fist has excellent motion tracking and speed, so James can rely on it when fighting as much as he can rely on himself. He'll almost always use melee combat, but he can still use the guns well, though he tends to not always rely on them of course, since they're not exactly the strongest. It can handle very well and the track on the bottom aids it's agility by sometimes providing a bit more speed or making abrupt stops. It has a high resistance against other melee attacks, bullets, and explosions.

Mech Origins: James' father had brought it home to make more repairs/upgrades as a sidejob, but was abandoned after the accident.

Appearance:

Weapons: Laser pistol.

Skills: Alis is known to be quiet and stealthy but isn't very good when it comes to close range combat, she would much rather rely on projectiles to do the job. Luckily, she was trained to use her weapon well and can wield it like a professional.

Personality: Alis has been known to be shy, insecure and unsure in most situations. However when put into a scenario where her or her friends lives are in danger she tends to take control and become a whole different person, someone who is confident and sure.

Bio: Alis lived a rough life. Her father injured himself whilst training (He was a former RUS mercenary) and was unable to fight in the war so he was taken from his home, along with Alis. They had to look for a place to take refuge for a while, unfortunately the only place available was a nearby junkyard to their old home.

Living in a junkyard is hard as it is without the constant flow of abandoned mechs being dumped every day. Alis' father fashioned her armour out of old mech parts and other abandoned machines. Her father was killed from a falling spaceshuttle and she lost an eye in an attempt to save him, This is when she salvaged his blast-proof jacket and now never takes it off.

When Alis was 19 she was taught by her father how to use her mech correctly. Little did she know that his dying wish would be for her to become a mercenary herself. The RUS were reluctant at first because of her dishevelled appearance but they eventually accepted.


Misc: Follows orders with accuracy.


Mech Suit/Exo Suit


Name: Rustbucket-506

Pilot Specialty:Is as quiet and stealthy as Alis herself, and is reasonably quick. Although to keep it at that stage she has to carry oil wherever she goes, usually in her mech itself. If there is none at hand, Rustbucket will slowly become less and less useful and more like a scrap of metal.

Mech Appearance:


Weapons: Has a strong endurance which makes good use as a wrecking tool.
It uses a machine gun of sorts across it's shoulders with a laser pistol inside the arm.

Special Attributes: Rustbucket is excellent to use for a last resort in many cases because of it's durability. Otherwise it's just as it's name implies, a rustbucket.

Mech Origins: Her father crafted it for himself then Alis inherited it for herself once he died.

Overall, for both of you, it's just the biographies that really need a re-work... though don't be afraid to add a lot more to your mech, Jammy. Besides stealth, if it's rusty - mechs tend to make a lot of noise, even at the best of times. Razz

Race: Human, part of a different race extremely distant from Earth.

Appearance: Slick Jet Black hair, Semi-tall, Skinny with two Red eyes. Black jacket over a red T-shirt, Left arm has been replaced with a shapeshifting Bionic Arm. Uses prototype Lev-boots, and always wears a pair of goggles mostly on his head, but sometimes uses them when working

Weapons: Bionic arm weapon transfigurations:

Condensed energy particle Sniper Rifle: Durand's weapon of choice when outside of his mech. Fires extremely powerful lethal Energy blasts by drawing in immense amounts of solar power. Used primarily from a distance.

Energy RH-01 Automatic pistol: For short range combat. Fully automatic pistol capable of firing energy shots mainly used to paralyze or even kill.

Consistent Energy laser pistol: A side arm meant only for use in case of emergencies. fires a consistent beam of energy but only for a short time. Overheats fairly easily.

Skills: Expert engineer and modifications specialist. Extremely proficient in modifying machinery. Is also an experienced pilot.

Personality:  A silent-type worker who tries to help whenever he can. At times he can be overly slap-happy for no apparent reason. tends to gravitate towards modifying his mech, White Storm whenever possible. Durand also tends to be slightly naive, but overly curious about things he has no business in. Tends to try and make himself the hero and sometimes even shows off, especially for the ladies.

Bio: Durand was left alone at the age of 15 as both of his parents died in the line of duty fighting for the protection of their home planet, Collin. at the age of 18, Durand enlisted himself in the Collin Police Department and found the money necessary to replace the missing arm he was born without. The result was a bionic shapeshifting arm that could transform into several different objects, including weaponry. Due to the over existence of war among the people of Collin, the citizens have resulted in using non-lethal forces of energy weapons to take down foes. Durand on the other hand, found this approach to peace to be nothing but a waste of time, and therefore, spent countless hours modifying his weaponry and bionic arm to super-charge them in to lethal energy weapons of destruction. This resulted in his dismissal from the police force, and his expulsion from the planet itself, leaving Durand to wander the cosmos alone in his patrol ship. Before leaving however, Durand was able to pilfer a set of prototype Levitation boots from the department, which became stuck to his feet permanently as a result of a critical malfunction. After 2 months of drifting senselessly through space and living off only the scraps of stolen food from passerby ships, Durand finally found another inhabited planet, albeit a deserted civilization. Upon landing, Durand unknowingly stumbles upon a beaten up mech suit that still had a pure white color to it. Excited beyond his wildest dreams, he takes it back to his ship and after 1 long year of tweaking, repairing and various upgrades, the mech suit is finally ready for combat. Durand ultimately wondered to himself how he was going to do anything with the suit and how he could possibly make a good chunk of change using it. It then hit him like a pile of bricks,.... he would become a mercenary.

Misc:

Mecha suit/Exo-suit

Name: White Storm

Pilot Speciality: Predetermines set paths and predicts future movements of enemies to ensure maximum amount of damage is dealt and the minimum taken.

Mech Appearance:

Weapons:

Energy condensing break-neck RH-06 Minigun: Preferred weapon. High out-put, highly mobile minigun attached to the left arm. Capable of firing at a consistent rate of 1200RPM. Uses highly condensed solar energy particles to deal massive amounts of damage without over-heating.

Dark Energy Propulsion unit: Dark matter exists all around us. Scientists have found that condensing dark matter can lead to explosive results far surpassing that of rockets and grenades. The super-charged custom Dark matter unit was made for White storm to bring in massive amount of dark matter and propel it toward enemies. Attached to it's right arm.

Special Attributes: Through energy condensing science, White storm is able to collapse in on itself by creating a rift in space-time and curls into a neat little ball whenever not in use. Is also equipped with a back up exo-skeloten underneath should the main shell of the mech be destroyed. All of this complete with 4 cup-holders.

Mecha Origins: Found abandon on a distant planet still not recognizable to anyone.

Name: Willow

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Race: Willow is unsure what her race was really called or what planet they came from, but she got called an elf so that all she has got.

Appearance:
Wears a computer device on her right lower arm, which connects to the computer onboard her mech. It has a touch screen and can display holograms, it is hard to tell by looking whether it is cybernetic or she just wears it all the time. Wears long sleeve top at all time because she got fed up with people asking her about her scars.

Weapons: Sniper rifle(stored in her mech) and twin energy blast pistols.

Skills: Willow has superb aiming, programming and hacking skill.

Personality: Willow has severe trust issues and prefers to spend long looking amounts of time alone. She can usually be found (if you can find her) doing maintenance on her guns and mech or typing furiously away at the computer in her mech when a grim looking ship lands at a nearby space dock.

Bio: Willow grew up on a slave ship not knowing who her parents were or where she came from. She didn't have a name only a code number W147S3. At an early age she was forced to work in the onboard factory. The slave ship didn't just sell slaves they also sold mechs that they got the slaves that they didn't end up selling to build, these they sold to all sorts of clients as they found most people didn't really care as long as it was well made.

At the Age of 10 Willow was sat an intelligence test along with many other children around her age so the slavers could choose what they would be best suited to do in the factory. Willow lucky overheard that anyone who got 80% or higher in the test would be killed and have their organs sold to save the slavers the trouble of dealing with possible escapees. Willow scored 75% after purposely making some of her answers incorrect because of this Willow was allocated to the programming section of the ship where the mechs where calibrated and AI's were added to some.

This was by no means better than being in the manual labour part of the ship as instead of having the standard issue electromagnetic collar; programmers were literally chained to their desks in a medieval fashion. As well as this each programmer had a bracelet like thing which would administer an electric shock if the code was wrong or they were taking to long on a single mech.

Willow continued like this for another eight years until one day a mech that was very different from most of the mechs that were manufactured on the ship; this was a specially ordered stealth mech. It inspired emotions in Willow that she had never felt before she was going to get that mech and leave this hellhole.

It felt almost too simple Willow simple wrote out all the code that it need to function plus some more that would cause it to wreck havoc when the slave traders turn it on for finally checks and it would then return to where she was.

When it did return to her willow got the mech to pull out the chain attached to the desk (which it managed quite easily even though it was not built for strength). Then she clambered into the cockpit and headed for the escape pods.

Willow learnt to shoot after she got into a spot of trouble and decided to get a gun and some shooting lessons. To her surprise willow was rather good at it due to her having better eyesight than most and took a favour to long range guns.

For the next 5 years of her life willow made money out of programming things for people specializing in mechs and taking assassination job off the interstellarnet.

Mecha suit/ Exo-suit

Name: Silent Bullet

Pilot Specialty: Direct connect or wireless hacking.

Mech Appearance:

Weapons: Large sniper rifle, energy ball blast from hands.

Special Attributes: Stealth field generator, jet jump boost and remote commands via Willow’s arm mounted computer.

Mecha Origins: Mech was stolen from slave trader. (See bio)

Name: N'othul
Age:  About 25 in human years
Gender: Male
Race: The Residual- An ancient, aquatic people with very little known about them after some mysterious power sent the majority into extinction. The ones who survived are reluctant to mention anything about their past, so the only history discovered about them comes from the remains of their underwater civilizations, hence the name Residual. From the numerous shrines and temples found in these sanctuaries, the Residual are believed to have been heavily religous in their lifestyles to the point where they banished the use of weapons as they believed the gods would protect them from any danger. Due to moving between land and sea often,  these remnants have developed both gills and lungs. (Around 1.2x on the gulliver scale)
Appearance:

Weapons: As weapons were strictly forbidden, N'othul's only defense outside of his mech is a platinum trident stolen from an idol of one of the many gods. Or atleast, it was his only weapon until he ended up in the mercenary buisness and sold it off for a pistol-sized phaser. Its firing speed may not be fantastic, but with a powerful shot and a steady aim, that doesn't really matter.
Skills: Besides the not-so-useful water breathing, N'othul's only ability is a form of camoflauge passed down from the time the Redisual were more octopus-like. That, and he's an excellent multi-tasker.
Personality: Inquisitive yet respectful, he is an overall good-natured guy. He'll always assist a friend in a fight, but when it comes to friends fighting, reverse gear is best gear.
N'othul prefers not to talk about what happened in the past, but that doesn't stop him from being fueled with a vengeance against those that would dare harm the defenseless.
Bio: N'othul was a priest of the highest order. He never dared question the gods much like everyone else. He believed the Residual were safe from any harm. One day the ground beneath him shook and sputtered. He rushed to the center of town where everyone was agape at the sight of soaring metal giants equipped with heavy artillery aimed for the Residual. Without hesitation, they opened fire. The people attempted to flee, but not many were successful. Against his morals, N'othul stripped an idol of his trident to use as protection. He swam for the shores, painfully trying to ignore the screams behind. N'othul later returned to make ammends with his people, but all that was left was ruins. "The gods have turned their backs to us" he thought to himself. N'othul never wanted another person to endure the pain he felt that day. He left for a nearby town, now possessing a little suprise, and enlisted as a mercenary. To defend those that can't protect themselves.

Mecha suit/Exo-suit
Name: The Vigilant Triad
Pilot Speciality: The Triad allows the pilot full control over all three legs, the rotation of the upper body, and the frontal weapon. The "eyes" on the hull of the mech allow a target's location to be triangulated to an exact point of where they will be based on their movement.
Mech Appearance:


Weapons: The Vigilant Triad trades fire speed for power, much like N'othul's phaser. A large railgun connected to the upper half discharges tremendous power over a long range. Two artemis missile launchers attached to the sides of the Triad allow easier breaching of an enemy's hull before the railgun turns their insides to scrap. Up close, the razor-sharp feet and legs laced with corrosive spikes will make an opponent reconsider trying to melee.
Special Attributes: With an armoured head and multiple joints in the legs intended for leaning out of harm's way, the Triad isn't easy to take down from a distance. The neck and cockpit can quickly rotate to face the railgun in a full 360 radius. However, it suffers a large recoil and so, has to plant itself down with sharp feet in any hopes of not tipping over when sniping. Despite its towering height, it's basically that, a sniping tower. Any enemy fast or sneaky enough to get in range before the Triad can pick it off or lunge with one of its legs is sure to cause a significant amount of damage.
Mecha Origins: Among the rubble, only one thing brought N'othul hope. A wrecked titan of the aggrievers who brought down the Residual. And he understood exactly how it happened. The Residual realizing no one would save them, took up arms in combination with camoflauge to attack the enemy from its blind spot, above. Around the scrapped behemoth lay the bodies of fallen friends. N'othul seized the mech and eventually had it repaired and fitted with armour around the head to prevent the same defeat from happening to him.

Well, you still didn’t give her any prior mercenary experience, and the RUS aren’t necessarily going out of their way to hire people. Mercs are supposed to go to them.

I think ill have to back out too, ive just been dumped a ton of work from my group and ill be busy most nights now with that. That, and ill be back at college soon so it wont get any easier.
