Trolling problem

Recently, i have been witness to something that bothers me. Two times i have seen the player Builderfish start an argument with another player about death message spam. After being told that the messages were annoying, he proceeds to try to justify his actions, full well knowing its wrong. These arguments lead to the annoyed player getting angry and quitting. These arguments are of a trolling fashion. The most recent of which, after the player quit, he poked fun at him. Mentioning how many times he has "rage quit". Unfortunately, due to circumstances, i have no screenshots to provide. Only witnesses and my word.

The recent offence took place on 4/22/15

That's regrettable to hear, although not the first time Builder has engaged in unsavory provocations, nor the first time he's courted trouble with people, including myself.  It's not like I won't forget the mirthful but tasteless suggestion to "make babies", no matter how backhanded it was.

I feel I need to hear more complaints first, but for the time being I feel Builder has committed enough spams, enough murders and enough disrespectful comments to spam to warrant at least a temporary softban while this gets sorted.

Ah thank you Cia =] Lemon talked with me, and I was going to handle it today, have a chat with builder, and see if I can find some evidence for it.

But I guess if he's soft banned he's going to have to have a chat anyways.

Ok well let me start with an apology. I never meant to hurt or harm anyone just have some fun. I understand how it got out of hand and do not intend to do so again. If you want an honest answer to why I sometimes do these things its because I have asperger syndrome. I don't use this for the entire reason but it does make it hard to control myself from time to time. This can lead to problems for me and has before in the past and I see is still causing trouble. I am a very logical person so I will always be thinking about the flaws in peoples talking and writing but usually keep it to myself. Last wednesday I lost control and blurted out what came to mind which was usually the flaw and this is what I believe lead to my ban. If I am false about this do feel free to correct me. I do however ask to do so in a nice fashion not accusing since this is hard enough as it is.

On the one hand, I want to thank you for finally coming forward with an apology, and being more or less honest about the underlying issue at hand.  I also want to thank you for, at least until today, not using your Asperger's as a shield to gain special favor.  I reviewed your application and there was rightfully no mention of it...

...so up till now, we have been able to judge you fairly just like any other player, assessing your vices and virtues as outlined in our Creeds.  And although you've had good participation, are a decent builder, and are self-motivated enough to make massive tunnel systems, this has been offset by the less-than-infrequent outbursts of bad behavior, be it the death messages, the mass murders, the constant quips to staff, and of course the sexist insults directed at me.  By themselves they're not overly notorious crimes, but taken as a whole and given the very recent psychological impact you're having on some of our better players, it is certainly becoming a serious problem. 

On the other hand, you do now bring up the Asperger's syndrome in a way that implies that everyone with Asperger's is apparently mean-spirited and cruel to others almost by necessity.  Given you're far from the only person with Asperger's syndrome, I find the assumption a bit insulting to the players with Aspergers who, aside from being perhaps a bit over-sensitive, still do their best to integrate well with our server, and even put the time, effort and research to outright reversing their condition (despite the medical belief to the contrary that Asperger's syndrome is incurable, which I don't adhere to).  It's more likely that you naturally want to insult people and be mean-spirited to them, but find it difficult to keep this rage to yourself as a result of this condition -- in essence, it gives us glimpses of your true self which is not altogether pretty.

As far as explaining this to you in a nice fashion, I should reiterate what I tell all people who try to shield themselves behind Asperger's, ADHD or other conditions... per our Creeds, you cannot use a medical or cognitive condition to gain special favors, especially if this involves lessening punishment for infractions on other Creed-abiding players.  If you do something wrong, you WILL get mercilessly called out for it, no matter how hard it is for you -- that's what you agreed to when you accepted our Creeds during the application process, and you had a chance to not sign up for this server if you felt it was going to be too hard for you to follow.  If anything, I think we've been more than lenient with you already, as some of things you've done should have easily warranted at least a temp-ban ages ago -- quite the contrary, we've gone out of our way to make you feel comfortable, including trying to relocate your home that one time (and putting it back after you weren't thrilled with the move).  So this request for leniency is denied, and I will ask that you seriously consider the implications of this as far as whether you feel this is the right server for you -- if you think it won't be, then it may be safer for your mental well-being to not return.  

I will give you a few weeks to think about it carefully... you will be officially temp-banned until June 26th, 2015, with a parole session at the end of it to gauge your feasibility to return to our server.  If you're not deemed fit to return, we'll wait another duration after that to try again.  If you prefer not to return, let us know here and we will gladly and gracefully dewhitelist you with no foul done.

So I have waited and I noticed it is the 28th now so I'm just curious what the situation of the unban is.

Okay, thanks for specifying your interest in returning.  Given that I did say the tempban would be capped off with a parole hearing, we will prepare a small unbanning application for you here...

You'll review the instructions, write an unbanning application, at which point I'll write an assessment, and then pose it for public comments that will allow players and staff to share their own thoughts on whether to unban or not.

This process should be over in about a week or so.
