Java Problems
Hey all!
Recently I've had a spat of problems whereby Windows players mysteriously have problems launching their Minecraft using the Gulliver Forged profile. It appears to be related to Minecraft updating to make use of its internal version of Java 8... unfortunately, we have yet to find a way to fix this with that version of Java 8.
So far, the people I have helped to successfully log back into the server have done so by regressing to Java 7. Here is the procedure taken that seems to work...
1) Install Java 7.
2) Find the directory where this Java 7 executable is installed (e.g., "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin").
3) Edit your Gulliver Forged Profile to point to this Java Executable (e.g., "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe")
4) If you get a "Failed to Start Java Virtual Machine" error, considering tweaking your JVM arguments to specify a minimum and set a larger maximum relative to the memory of your machine (e.g., "-Xms1G -Xmx3G -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true" if your computer has more than 4GB of RAM memory).
Some variations may apply, but if you experience this problem, please post it here so we can share information and have something useful for Mion to work with.

Re: Java Problems
Hi,
Mimi and I both had problems with this. We normally use windows 8 and used to use java 8 to run minecraft. The only way we were able to resolve this was we followed these steps above, having to revert to Java 7. I'd like to thank Cia for helping me to find the problem and fix it, and with Mimi also.

Get Java 7 or LegacyJavaFixer.
LegacyJavaFixer (Place the file in your mods folder): http://files.minecraftforge.net/LegacyJavaFixer/legacyjavafixer-1.0.jar
