SPOOKJAMS MOD GOALS

The first order of business for the new SpookJams Experimental Mod will be as follows:

1) Set up a development environment for either Minecraft 1.9 or Minecraft 1.10 (preferably the latter).

2) Create a new item... [real] Cheese ...especially considering that sponges and lapis are now used up in those versions of Minecraft, so we're going to want the real stuff. Smile

3) Document how it's done and post the source code here, so we can all see what was needed to make this happen.

BONUS) Create a crafting recipe for this new item that makes the Cheese item craftable by combining Milk with a Brown Mushroom.  Smile

This is not a competition,... I encourage you all to share and collaborate your work and findings.  Smile

For example, you can all get on Togethertube and watch all those amazing video tutorials on mod making together, and then just try to help each other understand what you're watching.  That way, something that looks too difficult or daunting alone will look trivial and doable as a group! Very Happy

This is what I have atm, just import it into Eclipse to see it.

You must have all the things in here done first.

All this should be set up as well.

You will have to enter your own username and password for the "Launch Client" part described in the above link.

The class for food items is entirely commented out due to causing a crash.

It's entirely possible that it works with Forge 1.8 and not 1.10, though I haven't tried it.

And I think my tutorial has covered all of the above, so we can consider Goal #1 FINISHED!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

Now to think of a Goal #2...

For Goal #3, I think we can do....


  • Create at least one new custom block
  • Create at least one new custom item block [meaning an item that can be placed like a block, such as a cake or flower pot]
