Worldgen Mods
I've been playing with Alternate Terrain Generation and ExtrabiomesXL (screencaps below) on SSP and they add a lot to the experience, but I don't think they change enough to work as a modpack of their own. So, could a second poll be added asking "Add ATG + EBXL or Not?"
They're both compatible with most of the mods I've tried; The pics were taken with the current Little Brother modpack.

Oh yes! I positively LOVE Biomes O Plenty!
But I do agree it should be paired with another mod. May I suggest the Aether and perhaps Mo Creatures?

I just tried to use Aether + ExtraBiomesXL and got a id conflict. I can download a resolver but that doesn't help later if the mods get selected and the server runs it. Recommendations, Cia?

Hmmm, can you test it with Biomes O Plenty instead of ExtraBiomesXL? The latter ive always found to be less unstable.

Using aether with ATG is definitely out until ATG gets updated to 1.7.x. The 1.6 aether is too incomplete. On the bright side, Mo' creatures and BoP are working well with ATG. I also added The Camping Mod to my SSP since the others alter the overworld so much. I'll want to travel and a mod designed for that will be useful.

It's not so much an artistic choice as technical issues. 1.6 aether is much too unfinished and at least two of the other mods have yet to upgrade to 1.7.x

Just throwing it out there, see what people think, but if we are going for a survival esque pack, what do you think of adding hardcore mode to it?
Might spice things up a bit too =] nothing like actually being scared to leave your house at night and it would be fun to see how far people get =P
Also they couldn't die for the whole month, the dead players could be resurrected at a pre-determined time too

...Hardcore servers sound really awesome, but I've tried one and in practice... players only ever die in the lamest and stupidest ways possible (i.e. falling down a mineshaft), and yet they can survive ridiculous odds in open battle in the middle of the night. So... please no hardcore?
